Poor standards of Corporate Governance and failure to adequately manage Ethics or implement appropriate corporate cultures have led to extensive criticism of companies and to catastrophic problems. In the aftermath of such failures, both market and stakeholder expectations have increased significantly.
Implementing effective controls to appropriately manage the firm’s approach to risk mitigation in this area can be challenging and has become yet another important initiative for most companies.
The maintenance of appropriate ethical standards and the effective implementation of a suitable corporate culture aligned to best practice fall within the scope of risk management. Senior management must ensure that they approach these issues holistically and with due consideration for overall impact.
"'Excellent course. I learned a great deal and the trainer did a great job adapting to the on-line delivery method for the course.'"Risk executive, Saudi Deposit Insurance Corporation, Riyadh
This course is designed for risk management and senior management staff, and is beneficial to compliance, control, governance and internal audit management and staff within companies of any size.
A fragmented or uncoordinated approach is likely to lead to lack of clarity of purpose, together with an increased risk of loss of reputation or brand value. What is needed is a consolidated approach to implementing structures that effectively deal with these issues ranging from the drivers of ethical behaviour, whistle-blowing, the role of HR, Bullying & harassment, ‘when it all goes wrong’, codes of conduct, gifts, misuse of information, policies and frameworks, leadership tone, monitoring & audit, and more.
This comprehensive course will take delegates through the key elements of the required framework to effectively manage ethics and culture risks.
Delegates will gain specialist technical and behavioural knowledge and an understanding of the core components of corporate culture and an effective ethical framework including how to:
• Appreciate the importance of ethics and culture to an organization
• Understand the ethical dilemmas likely to be faced in practice
• Identify the key sources of conduct and reputational risks for your organization
• Recognise what is ethical behaviour
• Appreciate the drivers and barriers to the implementation of culture risk management
• Understand how to implement appropriate frameworks
All delegates who complete the course will receive a Certificate in Ethics, Culture and Conduct Risk – Implementation and Management; and for those who require a demonstration of competency via an assessment a 20-question and multiple choice answer quiz, remotely invigilated, with 1 resit and results report is available at no additional charge when requested at time of booking.
